Kick off your St. Patrick’s Day fun by joining local chef Ian Baker as he demonstrates how to prepare a St. Patrick’s Day Corned Beef with Cabbage and Potatoes! This Irish dish of salted (i.e. “corned”) beef with boiled cabbage and potatoes dates back for centuries and is traditionally eaten for festive occasions beyond just St. Patrick’s Day. The meal takes hours to cook so you won’t see the process from start to finish (in real-time). But, samples will be available around 1:00 PM. Come celebrate with us and taste a bit of the Old County brought to America by immigrants of the 1700 and 1800’s. It’s sure to be infused with a little Irish luck!
Ian Baker is a native Bay Citian with professional experience as a fine-dining chef of more than six years. He considers his signature dish a Honey Rosemary Braised Duck Breast with Pan Jus but has a passion for cooking that extends well beyond a single style. Chef Baker’s commitment to inspiring a love for the art of food-making in others is both a rare and wonderful gift to our community.
